Traing mode: Divas Half Marathon

So I finally went ahead and paid for my registration for the Divas Half Marathon on April 28th, I’m so excited! I’ve been slacking on my long runs so I have to get in gear real quick. I run about 12 to 15 miles a week but that’s not gonna get it I have to step it up. If you read some of my other post I run with a group called Black Girls Run and before you ask or jump to conclusions, no you don’t have to be black to join Black Girls Run (every one is welcome, just no man) LOL. These ladies will help me in my journey to prepare for my 1st half marathon.

A few items that are a must have when I run are:

I will post updates on how my runs are coming along and if my time is improving, wish me luck! Are you getting ready for any races or trying to reach a goal?

A little Glamour mixed with Western

On this day I decided I wanted to be comfortable but fab like always.. šŸ™‚ At least once a month I take my dad to his Dr appointments and I try to look my best even running errands and helping my dad out. I do hate that people mistake me for his wife or girlfriend, ugh gross..LOL

I bought the red checkered shirt (goodwill) thinking how cute it would look in the spring time with some white skinny jeans or shorts with a strappy heel or red converse. The necklace I bought about 2 years ago from forever21 and decided to finally pull it out and rock it with my western shirt (a little glamour mixed with western). šŸ˜‰

As for the jeans & the cropped red jacket they are also from the Goodwill, the boots are by Liz & Co I caught on sale at Jcpennys during Black Friday for $30.00 (great price for real leather, I take that back can you say STEAL).

Thrift Haul

If you haven’t figured it out I am a thrift junkey! I try to go at least twice a week but no less thanĀ once a week. Last week I had to do a photography session an hour away from me in Roswell. I went up a little early so I can look for a few thrift stores and what to do I find? I drive up to this Salvation Army, but this wasn’t just any Salvation Army this one was big! They had clothes, furniture, linen, just about everything. I was set up like a Marshalls, I was in heaven.

I ended up finding a pair of trousers, a dress, and a pair of shorts.

Brand new with tags it was 24.99 but I got it for $9.99

Trousers $3.99

Shorts $2.99

I love all the pieces I found, I used these images for my inspiration when shopping.

Thrift Haul

So yesterday I stopped by a Value Village in the area I was in, I didn’t think I would find much since its not the best area. By my surprised I find a few things that I am very excited about.

If you follow the trends like me then you know sexy strappy heels are making a come back. I love a sexy strap heel so I knew I had to find a pair, so when I saw these for $3.99 brand new I wanted to scream.. šŸ˜‰

I also found these vintage purses for $2.00 each and these belts for $0.99 each.

I think I found some great stuff on my thrift haul. You find anything good lately?

My Favorite Things: Makeup Primer

So I have always loved makeup but I recently really started learning how to apply it correctly. I have a friend who is a makeup artist, Makeup by Melrica here in Atlanta and she has taught me a few tricks. By the way she is awesome and I use her for all my big events and client shoots or brides (send me a message if you would like more info on her).

My two favorite items this week are the e.l.f.Ā  Mineral Face Primer & the e.l.f. Essential Eyelid Primer

ELF mineral primer

Transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas with the Mineral Infused Face Primer. Developed to combat against excess oil, flaky dryness, enlarged pores and fine lines. This clear multipurpose skin primer will prepare your skin so makeup goes on evenly for a long lasting satin finish.

Preps your eyelid for smoother, longer-lasting and crease-proof eyeshadow. The lightweight liquid formula quickly absorbs into the skin for comfortable wear and increases eye color longevity.

There are so many different primers out there that cost $20.00 to $30.00 but why pay that much when you can use something just as good for a couple dollars.

Me doing my own makeup, im still learning but not to bad…

Well I posted in that blog that I would post pics when I wore my tee out and im just now getting around to posting pics. On this day my daughter and I went shopping at a big ware house boutique sale. I ended up finding a few great pieces all ranging from $5 to $15 and my baby girl Sid even found a pair of red skinny jeans in her size!

My thrift finds

Today I met a client for a short meeting and afterwards decided to stop by one of my favorite little thrift shops, the Salvation Army. Todays color was blue, which means anything with a blue tag is 50% off. I found two skirts for the Spring/Summer.

_MG_1271 _MG_1272 _MG_1273 _MG_1274 _MG_1275 _MG_1276

As you can see one skirt was $2.99 & the other $3.99, they both cost me $3.50, can you say DEAL!

This blue dress above I found at the Goodwill, the color of the day was also blue $5.00 with 50% off it cost me $2.50, brand new with tags still attached.

I think I found some great items all for $6.00, can you say SCORE! Did you find anything great at the thrift store this week if so please share.
